Release Notes for Assemble 1.2 Product Update

ENHANCEMENTS

INSTANCE LEVEL PROPERTIES

Assemble now allows the user to drill down past the type of element to each instance of the element. This allows for detailed parameters on each specific instance of the element. Additionally, Navisworks search sets will now be created to illustrate each instance as it's own search set.

Roll-up behavior has also been adjusted to allow for the instance-level reporting. If it does not make sense for a quantity to be rolled up to the family or category level (such as thickness of a door), then Assemble will not roll up the value.

CHOOSE WHICH DESIGN OPTION TO PUBLISH

Assemble now only publishes the primary design option. This allows Assemble to compare different design options of the same model. The video below shows how this works.

IMPROVED EXPORT FILE NAMES

In Assemble the exported file names have been improved to help the user distinguish between different exports. The file name takes on the properties of the project/model/version you are currently using plus a date and time stamp. In the screenshot below we can see an example of this.

SMART FILTERING

Assemble's previous filters had an overhaul in this release. The new smart filters allow the user much more power over the data returned in the grid. These filters are also designed to be more intuitive.

RESIZE GRID COLUMNS

Columns in Assemble are now able to be adjusted. To adjust the column widths just grab the line dividing the columns and drag it to the desired width.

IDENTIFY DEGREES AS A UNIT OF MEASURE

In Assemble 1.2 we can now view degrees as a UOM. To do this, navigate to the add/remove columns and add the Angle column.

DUCT FLOW UNIT OF MEASURE AS CUBIC FEET

Assemble now pulls in CFM and GPM data from revit models. To see this data, navigate to the add/remove columns and add Air Flow/ Flow.

WEIGHT (TONS) AS UNIT OF MEASURE FOR BAR JOISTS AND JOIST GIRDERS

Assemble now allows users to view Weight (TON) for bar joists and joist girders. To see this data, navigate to the add/remove columns and add Weight (TON).

NEW DEFAULT "MODEL INVENTORY" VIEW

Assemble has changed the name of its default view.

TOTAL COST FIELD AVAILABLE FOR EDIT IN CONDITIONING MODE

Assemble now has a total cost field that can be modified. If we modify this field it automatically updates the unit cost field with the appropriate value. This works both ways. If we update the Unit Cost field it also updates the Total Cost.

ABILITY TO CANCEL PUBLISHER CONNECTION

The Assemble Revit add-in now has a button that allows you to cancel the initial connection. This is great for people who use multiple Assemble servers and don't want to wait for the initial server to connect.

BUG FIXES

  1. Assemble loads properly with Revit Design Suite and Revit Structure 2012.
  2. Group By categories tied to specific model versions can now be deleted.
  3. Help link in "Create a Project" modal fixed.
  4. Variance error between different takeoff units in Compare mode is fixed.
